VIÑA VIK RECOGNISED AS SECOND BEST VINEYARD IN THE WORLD, AND BEST VINEYARD IN CHILE AND SOUTH AMERICA IN THE PRESTIGIOUS GLOBAL RANKING OF WORLD’S BEST VINEYARDS 2024

The renowned vineyard in the Cachapoal Valley, founded by Alex and Carrie Vik, reaches second place among the best vineyards in the world, thanks to its sustainable experience, connected with design, art, and excellent wines.

We are proud to announce that Viña VIK has been recognised as the second-best vineyard in the world in the World’s Best Vineyards 2024 list, consolidating our position as the best vineyard in Chile’s history. This achievement highlights our ongoing commitment to excellence in wine production and the creation of unforgettable experiences for our visitors. The award adds to VIK’s portfolio of achievements this year, having earlier received 100 points for the 2021 vintage, by critic James Suckling.

Throughout its history, VIK has climbed year after year in the World’s Best Vineyards ranking, reflecting its innovative offer of unique and ultra-premium experiences: it rose from the #8 spot in 2021 to the TOP #4 in 2022 and then to the TOP #3 in 2023, finally reaching the TOP #2 in 2024, the best ranking for a Chilean vineyard in the history of this contest.

Located in the heart of the Millahue Valley, Viña VIK stands out not only for its exceptional oenological offering but also for its impressive architecture designed by Chilean architect Smiljan Radic. The winery features an innovative design that perfectly integrates with the surrounding landscape, and its iconic water mirror reflects the natural beauty of the environment, becoming a symbol of elegance and modernity.

The awards ceremony took place on Monday, November 4, 2024. The top 50 list is compiled from all nominations by the global academy of voters. The world is divided into geographical regions, each headed by an acknowledged expert known as the Academy Chair. Each Academy Chair is responsible for recruiting 36 wine and travel experts. Each member of the Voting Academy must vote for 7 vineyards.
There is no predetermined checklist of criteria or pre-defined list to choose from; each vote is a nomination for a vineyard experience open to the public that they deem to truly be the best in the world.
